The privilege of leading the Convoy within the Top Ten trucks and utes was hotly contested this year.
see TOP10 Trucks or Top10 Utes for results

Some 220 Trucks and 70 utes took part in the event. with the festivities culminating at Redcliffe Showgrounds

With the utes leaving stradroke street ahead of the trucks, so everyone knew the trucks were on their way.. Our team left stradbroke street after the trucks, cathcing up to them along the gateway motorway extension, it took us until Riffle range hill to catch up to the lead trucks.
The utes were at nudgee shell by that stage, and by the time we met them they were just at the Hornibrook Bridge.
A call from the Channel 10 Helicopter came to me, and they were in place over the convoy, heading to the Hornibrook Bridge to capture the trucks in progress, and what a great place to get the view from a helicopter. Thanks to all the media that covered the event. CH10, CH9, CH7, 98.9fm, B105, MMM, 99.7fm, and more for your input into coverage.
Jamie Dunn and Ian Calder from 98.9fm Brissy's best country station, did a sensational job over the last month with helping to promote the event. I spoke with Jamie after the event on 98.9fm, and Jamie said how emotional it was seeing those trucks and utes enter the showgrounds. Thanks 98.9fm

The entertainment was great, the kids enjoyed the stage shows, and later the music was great for the adults. We did experiment with the earlier start time this year of 9am, and lots of comments have come through already that we need to put it back to 10am, so we will do tha tfor next year. We will also get the music started earlier next year. We want your feedback, so please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The fireworks at 7.15pm were fantastic thanks to Morayfield Shopping Centre, Skylighter Fireworks, Matchmaster TV Reception Systems and Redcliffe High school. An awesome display thing for redcliffe locals out and about were linning the streets to see the fireworks. There are some vidoes of those floating around the social website pages of Facebook and You Tube. You Tube also has a good video of the start point and trucks departing thanks to Aussie Big Bangers website once again, they have capture the event for you to see. there is a link on the video gallery of this website.

Truck pull TUG O WAR was a tonne of fun again this year... Matt Haack's boys and girls made the cut with the most cheating, bribing, not listening to instructions, hurling insults at other teams and having the most fun.. well done Haack Team for your victory in the TRUCK PULL TUG O WAR proudly made possible by Brisbane Isuzu, thanks to them as well.
We are working madly on the figures for toital raised, we need to ensure we get this right, so we are gathering the info, and still collecting payments at this point, as soon as we have finalised it all we will let you know.
All of us here at Brisbane Convoy for Kids would like to thank the Driver, their families, the sponsors, supporters, the public and all the behind the scenes people, companies and government bodies it takes to make this event possible and successful. It take a full 12 months in planning to make this happen, and we are already onto next years 2012 Brisbane Convoy for Kids. I have already received our first trade stall booking, our first bid for top 10 ute spot and our first music act, so we are under way.
We will have images on the website shortly, in the mean time, head to www.miersphotography.com.au where you can purchase for $2.00 a copy of any photo, with $1.00 from each photo being donated back to Brisbane Convoy for Kids. I purchased these ones on this page, so please grab your copy, and help us respect the copyright on these photos.

A Massive thanks to all the volunteers, officials, and organisers for their continued support, so many of these behind the scenes makes it very difficult to list them all here.
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT
